Celebrating the Future of the Decorating Trade: PDA Apprentice of the Year Awards 2026

Purdy has been proud to sponsor the Painting and Decorating Association (PDA) Apprentice of the Year Awards 2026 - a competition Purdy has been sponsoring for more than a decade. This competition recognises the exceptional talent, dedication and craftsmanship demonstrated by the next generation of professional decorators.

The annual awards bring together some of the most promising apprentices from across the UK, providing a platform to showcase the technical skills, attention to detail and professionalism that will help shape the future of the decorating industry.

This year's finalists demonstrated an impressive standard of work, reflecting the commitment they have shown throughout their training and apprenticeships. From preparation and precision cutting-in to finishing techniques and problem-solving, the competition highlighted the wide range of skills required to excel in the trade.

At Purdy, we understand the importance of investing in future talent. For over 100 years, professional painters and decorators have trusted Purdy tools to help deliver outstanding results, and we are passionate about supporting those who are just beginning their careers in the industry.

Congratulations to the Winners

We would like to congratulate all the finalists for reaching this stage of the competition. The quality of work on display throughout the competition was exceptional, making the judges' decisions incredibly difficult.
