To celebrate our 100 year anniversary, we have launched a competition to win a trip for two to our heartland, Portland in Oregon. During the luxury seven-night stay, the winner will visit the Purdy factory to meet the brushmakers and even make their own Purdy brush, a prize that money can’t buy.

At Purdy, crafting quality painting and decorating tools is just as important today as it was 100 years ago, when S. Desmond Purdy handcrafted the first Purdy brush in his Portland garage. After years of dedicated design, crafting and testing to deliver durable tools with an unsurpassed performance, we are now celebrating our 100-year anniversary with a return to our roots.

The competition prize includes a seven-night stay for two with bed and breakfast at the 5* Ritz Carlton Hotel in Portland from the 26th October 2025 until the 2nd November 2025, including flights and transfers from a UK or Irish airport. As well as a tour of the Purdy factory and brushmaking experience, there will also be plenty of time to explore everything that Portland has to offer at your leisure.

For a chance to win, all you need to do is fill in our entry form, explaining why you would love to visit Purdy.

As well as the grand prize, from March to July 2025, one entrant will also be selected each month to win a loaded Purdy backpack.

Andrew Cummins, Senior Product Manager at Purdy, commented: “We are very excited to be launching our Portland competition in celebration of Purdy’s 100 year anniversary. The competition was created to show appreciation to our loyal customers who have supported Purdy over the years. The lucky winner will not only be able to visit the Purdy factory and explore Portland, but they will also be able to experience a true American Halloween!”

The competition will open on 3rd March 2025 at 9:00 (BST) and end on 31 July 2025 at 23:59 (BST). The competition is open to over 18's only, legal residents of the UK and/or Ireland, currently working (either via employment, self-employment or apprenticeship) as a painter or decorator in the UK or Ireland.
